A brief prayer is offered that you can add to your daily prayers this week. The scripture is from our Sunday Service Bulletin. Today is Trinity Sunday, acknowledging and worshiping our Triune God.

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

On Trinity Sunday, the Christian Church ponders with joy and thanksgiving what the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have done to accomplish the salvation of sinful humanity. We remember the Father as our Creator, the Son as our Savior and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter. Sometimes the idea of three entities being one is something that we simply can’t get our head around.  The bible does not mention the concept of “Trinity” but there are several verses in the Good Book which call out the Three. Today’s Great Commission is one of those examples: in this passage God gives us our prime directive, and that is to make disciples. How do we do this? Have you ever had any training in making disciples? Jesus knew how to make disciples and it involves being a person of faith; taking the time to pray; to listen to and teach others; and being a good example. We’ll never measure up to Jesus, but I believe we can still make disciples. Please stay tuned and be ready to receive more information over the coming weeks.
